BULLETIN: WWE Cuts 6 Superstars as the Purge Begins...

WWE announced a couple weeks back that many cuts among staff would be made as a cost-cutting measure as WWE prepares to jump back to the USA Network this fall from Spike TV; USA is selling the advertising for future shows for WWE, which means WWE loses that revenue.

And so...the purge begins....

WWE announced this afternoon that it had cut 6 performers from it's roster:

Billy Kidman
Shannon Moore
Akio
Maven
Gangrel
Mark Jindrak

These are in addition to announcer Marc Loyd, who was cut last week.

ADDITION TO ORIGINAL POSTING

Just hours after announcing the first list of cuts yesterday, WWE added two more names to the list of roster cuts:

Spike Dudley (Matt Hyson)
Mordecai (Kevin Fertig)

That brings the total number of cuts to nine so far, 8 wrestlers and announcer Marc Loyd.
